Bold, playful motifs and print patterns express the key overarching themes for Resort 2022 runways. The collections were jam-packed with bright, contrasting colors and energizing prints, helping to shake up the monotony of dressing for home. Groovy psychedelic prints and graphics have flooded Stella McCartney’s collection: with jersey dresses flocked in hypnotic hues of cool blues and tangerine orange, putting us in a deep trance. Sophisticated, eye-catching prints have also dominated Dior’s runways, with sporty cuts and fabrics that are elevated with playful kaleidoscopic patterns.

Make room for wide-leg trousers this season. These voluminous trousers are spotted everywhere from Zimmerman to Chanel. Designer Alberta Ferrett has presented wide-leg camel-colored pants, while Stella Mccartney showed us slouchy raver pants in neutral and dark colours. Over at Proenza Schouler, wide-leg trews were paired with knitted ribbed tanks and sweaters. Ultimately, comfort is the key.

Another key trend from the Resort 2022 runways would be tailored suitings. Versace added a fun twist to their suits by showcasing them in colorful sherbet shades like lilac, pink and green. Meanwhile, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at Proenza Schouler presented slouchier, relaxed suits, paired with classic pointed collar tops and fuzzy knitwear. Designers like Max Mara and Victoria Beckham are embracing the calming colours of the earth, showcasing ensembles in varying shades of beige, sky blue, and moss green. Alberta Ferretti also focused on cozy, earthy natural tones; offering elegant trench coats and parka jackets in a cozy colour mix of olive, camel and coffee brown.

For Resort 2022, Designers are leaning towards the fabric choice of bouclé, a truly iconic and classic texture that will never go out of style. At Giambattista Valli showed us how to do feminine with alluring creamy bouclé dresses and skirts. Striking black and white bouclé jackets and coats can be seen from Chanel as they are meticulously detailed with embroidered beadings and shiny sequins. Anna Sui also presented us with an array of beautiful boxy bouclé jackets and coats.
